What I'm Writing

Does the world really need another Gadget Blog ?

What's so different Obsessable than the other dozen great technology sites ?

The easy answer is Crowd Fusion.  The platform allows us to attract great talent and let them act superhuman.  Speaking of Superhumans, we hired Barb Dybwad. Take a look at an individual product page like the T-Mobile G1. It's not only description and specs or stories we've written, there are stories from around the web, that we are curating through an internal RSS reader.  This gives us a deep search experience, helps us find news stories and new products faster than other sites, and assign them into the work flow with ease.

How are we going to get recognized over the all the noise ?

Another strategic hire can provide some of that answer. C.K. Sample is now our Social Media Evangelist and is making sure we all leverage our networks to their fullest potential while building a strong network for Obsessable at the same time.  The platform provides another answer.  I've pulled out all my White Hat SEO tricks for this one and within 5 hours of letting Google Spiders see our site we were ranked number 1 for TMobile G1 MSRP

Why is Crowd Fusion that good ?

Experience, Passion, Hustle, Creativity and Vision.

[UPDATE] In case you are wondering we launched Obsessable.com yesterday.  It wouldn't have been possible without Randall Bennett and his great team.

Matching contributions of ChoiceTweets Donations to EFF

I've got a lot to say about choicetweets and the embroiled content dispute that they are engaged in.  This blog post isn't going to address all those issue this blog post is solely to declare that I will donate $5 each to the EFF for the first 20 people who post a link to a picture of themselves wearing a copyright free choicetweet that came from a @w3ace quote on twitter.

And to the Republic for which it stands

I didn't watch the political conventions.  I heard people talk about them as if they actually followed american politics and were well informed.  Once every four years americans watch 1 week of TV and become instantly aware of what would make this country great again.  I'm not trying to discourage political discourse, but getting excited for the grandstanding that is our monarchistic crowning of a president is making things worse.

Executive privilege and executive orders have lopsided our system of checks and balance.  The indifference that we show towards the daily working of the floor of the House and Senate and the fact that only commonly known Supreme Court case is Roe v. Wade have allowed the scales to tip.

I'm not a model citizen.  I only pay attention to the topics that I'm passionate about.   What I'd like is that if you aren't going to pay as much attention to local politics and legislative actions as  the Presidential race -- than don't pay any attention -- don't give a couple power hungry unaccountable men (and woman) even more power.

Tweel: the next generation of Tires

I love watching Google trends.  Tonight I just read about the tubeless tire -- the tweel.  Terrible name, great concept.
